Just Relax... ® is a deliciously fragrant aromatherapy synergy blend of 100% pure, neat / undiluted, imported essential oils (plant extracts) of lavender, marjoram sweet; warning: not for use by pregnant women, mandarin orange, patchouli, geranium and chamomile Roman. Because our Just Relax... ® synergy blend is full-strength, although you may wish to inhale it directly from the bottle, do not apply it directly to the skin. Dilute it by adding 5 to 10 drops of oil to your bath water, mix it into an unscented body lotion without mineral oil, such as our Smooth All Over cream, use it with a diffuser or facial steam, or add it to an atomizer (spray bottle) containing alcohol. Stress Relief ® is a spicy citrus aromatherapy synergy blend of 100% pure, neat / undiluted, imported essential oils of bergamot, patchouli, blood orange, ylang ylang and grapefruit. Because Deep Sleep ® is diluted, you can and should apply it directly to the skin. It's ready for use. This is especially helpful late at night when you can't sleep. Unlike taking pills, which can take 30 to 60 minutes to, Deep Sleep ® is fast, gentle and non-addictive. In no time you'll start to feel woozy, like you just had two glasses of wine, which to most of us is a very pleasant feeling. If you awaken after 4 to 6 hours, reapply sparingly to the soles of the feet for faster absorption. After you've used Deep Sleep ® once or twice, you'll have a sense of how much is right for you. The amount of Deep Sleep ® you'll need will depend on how sensitive you are, your weight, age, the severity of your insomnia / anxiety, and your overall health. If symptoms persist, see your doctor.

If we save money by finding a less expensive / high quality resource, we will pass the savings along to you. In the fall of 2005, we reduced the price of our 5 ml (1/6 oz) bottle of Deep Sleep ® from $23 to $18. During 2009, we added the 10 ml (1/3 oz) bottle for added savings. During 2008 the price of Roman chamomile doubled. In late 2009 the price dropped due to the devaluation of the British Pound Sterling. The price of neroli (orange blossom) oil increased by 21% in 2008; it increased again in early 2009. In 2010, as the dollar continued to decline, our materials costs have increased considerably. We have not increased our retail prices, however, and continue to offer free retail shipping, athough postage prices have increased.

Common causes of insomnia

Application from bottle
Store Deep Sleep ® in your bedroom closet, inside your night stand, in your medicine cabinet, or wherever it's readily available, as long as it's in a cool, dark place. With the plastic applicator touching the skin, use the bottle as you would a roll-on. Don't touch the oil. If you apply it properly, it won't run and you won't have to get up afterward to wash your hands. Apply Deep Sleep ® to one side of your body in a circular motion, forming a 2" wide strip. Starting at the thigh, continue down the calf, stopping at just above the ankle. Wait 20 minutes. If you don't feel drowsy, repeat the process on the other side of the body. We also have a roll-on bottle for your convenience; see option 3.
Option #1
Place a washcloth, a clean old hand towel, and a small bowl, half filled with water, on your nightstand, to wash your hands. Sitting on the edge of the bed, crossing one leg over the other, with your ankle resting on your thigh, so that the sole of the foot is facing upward, sprinkle 5 drops of Deep Sleep ® onto the sole. Drop the oil on gently; don't shake the bottle too hard, or you won't be able to count the drops. Using just the tips of your index and middle fingers, cover your sole and toes with oil. Apply to the other foot. Let the oil to absorb into the skin for 15 to 20 minutes. Do not touch the floor. Rinse and wipe your fingers well. Wait for 10 to 20 minutes, or until you feel drowsy enough to lie down. Place the towel onto the bed to protect the sheets. Although it's always best to wash your hands with soap and water after each application, rinsing should suffice, as long as you don't touch your eyes or genitals before morning, or whenever you usually wash, since the oils may cause the delicate tissues to have a burning sensation. Refer the first aid / preventive measures below.
Option #2
If you have knee problems, or if you can't sit up in bed comfortably without support, use a basin (metal is preferable) that's large enough to put both feet into. Fill the basin with just enough warm water to cover the soles soles of both feet. Drop in the oil. Start with 10 drops (minimum) and increase to 20 drops (maximum). It's better to use too little than too much the first time. Soak the feet for 10 to 15 minutes; pat dry. We've been using this and the methods above to apply Deep Sleep ® for 15 years. If you are our customer, and you have an easier or better way of applying it, please let us hear from you.
Option #3
Order the roll-on bottle of Deep Sleep ® instead of the dropper bottle. The benefit of using a roll-on is that you won't have to touch the oil with your fingers, so you won't have to wash your hands afterward. The downside is that you will have to devise a system for yourself, based on trial and error, to determine exactly how much to use. Unlike the dropper bottle, you won't be counting out the same number of drops each time. We added the roll-on bottle because our customers asked for it.

Deep Sleep ® Bath Oil: Although our formula was designed for application to the skin directly from the bottle, you're welcome to add 5 to 10 drops to your bath water if you prefer.

When testing Deep Sleep ® for the first time, our 1 ml trial size vial is usually not enough. At least it hasn't been with those who have tried it. This is our only formula that is not full strength. Therefore, you'll need more. If you are a new / first time customer, order our 2.5 ml bottle for $9.00

Don't like to or can't bathe?
If the aromatherapy is neat / undiluted: Just Relax & Stress Relief, hold the bottle under your nose and take about six deep breaths. You'll be inhaling the fumes, which are taken up into your bloodstream and brain quickly. If you inhale too deeply for too long, you'll get dizzy. Or, you can mix it with body lotion and apply it directly to the skin, the largest organ in the body. Or fill a shallow tub or basin with warm water, add a few drops of undiluted essential oil, and soak your feet in it.

Application to the skin
Although Deep Sleep is diluted and ready to be applied directly to the skin, Just Relax and Stress Relief are not. To use them: (a) add to bath water, (b) mix with a carrier oil: vegetable, nut; (c) blend with cream or lotion. The problem with most popular brands of lotion is that they contain mineral oil, a petroleum byproduct, which creates an absorption barrier to the essential oils, and synthetic fragrance. It is challening to find a quality affordable lotion without these unwanted ingredients.
What is bergaptene?
Many plants contain furocoumarins such as bergaptene, which are known photo-sensitizers. Bergaptene is a naturally occurring component of bergamot essential oil. When bergamot oil is applied to the skin, it can become very sensitive to ultraviolet light, causing dermatitis. In mild cases it can be seen as a reddening of the skin. The reddening will resolve in a few weeks, although the accompanying hyperpigmentation (brown spots) can take months or years to fully disappear. We are using bergaptene-free bergamot in Deep Sleep ®, although it is still in (and will remain in) Stress Relief ®.
First Aid / Preventive Measures
For eye contact, flush with copious amounts of water for 15 min. For skin contact, remove contaminated clothing, wash affected areas. For swallowing, drink lots of water or milk to dilute. For inhalation, seek fresh air for excess inhalation. Do not induce vomiting; seek medical attention. Mandarin orange in our Just Relax blend can be mildly phototoxic. Bergaptine in bergamot, in our Stress Relief ® blend, is phototoxic. Use sunscreen after use or when you are in the sun.
